"Seiko 5 Sports x Brian May “Red Special II”

Following on from the successful collaboration with Queen guitarist Brian May in 2020, Seiko is proud to launch a new limited-edition timepiece with the acclaimed musician, with just 12,500 pieces available worldwide.

Brian has worn a Seiko diver’s watch for over 40 years, purchased on his first-ever trip to Japan in the 1970s - since when his guitar and his watch have travelled the globe together, making great music, keeping great time.

The latest gold accented design, inspired again by his ‘Red Special’ guitar, highlights the donations which will be made from the proceeds of this watch to the Mercury Phoenix Trust. 

In the last 21 years, The Mercury Phoenix Trust founded by Brian May, Roger Taylor and their manager Jim Beach in memory of rock band Queen’s iconic lead singer Freddie Mercury, has given away over 17 million dollars and funded over 1000 projects in 57 countries in the global battle against HIV/AIDS. 

This timepiece features Brian’s signature on its clear caseback and comes with a special presentation box inspired by the bespoke travel case of the ‘Red Special’ guitar, along with a commemorative lucky Sixpence which Brian uses as a plectrum. Its nylon strap is designed to emulate the guitar strap used by Brian May today.

• The case of the watch measure 42.5 mm and is made of gold-coloured stainless steel.
• The black bezel also features gold markings. 
• The dial of this model is protected by Hardlex Crystal.
• The dial of the watch is red and black. The subtle silhouette of a guitar can be seen on the dial.  
• This model has a nylon black and gold-striped strap to represent the strings on May's guitar.
• Brian May's signature is featured on the transparent caseback.
