Brand History

Roamer were founded by Fritz Meyer in 1888 to create cylinder escapements for the watch industry. The company started with 7 employees but by 1895 they had grown to 60 employees and they started producing complete watches. In 1905 Fritz Meyer entered into a partnership with Johann Stüdeli and they developed the MST movement which gained a reputation for high precision and reliability. Roamer won awards at a number of World Fairs and the company continued to grow, employing 1,200 people by 1940. In the 1950's Roamer introduced a watertight case. The Roamer Anfibio line was launched in the same decade, which gained a worldwide reputation for exceptional quality, durability and reliability - this reputation is still intact today.

Roamer maintain a strong link to their history and tradition, the current company headquarters is located 5 minutes away from the original headquarters. This strong link is displayed throughout the Roamer watch range. The current range of Roamer watches is modern while maintaining a strong traditional link.
