In exciting news, Out Of Order has unveiled its all-new Gin & Tonic watch! As part of the Shaker Automatic GMT collection, this limited edition watch draws inspiration from a particular cocktail. And as its name suggests, that cocktail is a classic G&T. Believe it or not, the Gin & Tonic has a great history. Used as a remedy for malaria in the 18th century, British soldiers in India mixed gin with tonic water which contained quinine. The bitter taste of quinine was unpleasant, so soldiers added gin, sugar, and lime to improve the flavour. From a problem to an opportunity, it is now a refreshing cocktail enjoyed worldwide. Out Of Order has taken the simplicity and balance of flavours from the Gin & Tonic and translated it into this watch. If you want to discover how they’ve done so, read on for more!

The Case and Dial
Following a light green and white colour scheme, this Gin & Tonic Automatic GMT impresses with its crisp and clean notes. The transparent to matte white gradient glass dial features applied rusted indices with Super-LumiNova printed frames. Complementing the indices are three gunmetal hands and an orange GMT hand, each with a luminescent fill. The GMT hand allows for the tracking of a second time zone. The dial also features an internal date ring, where the current date is displayed at 3 o’clock, and as the dial is clear, the wearer can view the entire date ring as well as the movement within. A domed, anti-reflective sapphire crystal protects the dial. Not only does it improve the readability of the watch but it also enhances its visual appeal.
A brushed 316L stainless steel case frames the dial. Measuring 40mm in diameter, it is a size that suits the majority of wrists; anyone who wants to rock this watch can! A 316L polished stainless steel 60-click, bidirectional rotating bezel with a domed sapphire-coated crystal with internally printed numbers in Super-LumiNova also frames the dial. The numbers on the bezel align with the GMT hand, guiding with the telling of the second time zone. Overleaf, the 316L stainless steel screw-down case back features engraved specifications and low-relief textures of a Gin & Tonic cocktail. Moreover, the silver IP-treated stainless steel screw-down crown aids the watch’s 300 metre water resistance.
The Movement and Finishing Touches
Within the case lies a Japanese-made Seiko NH34A movement. An automatic movement with a 41-hour power reserve and a GMT function, it guarantees precise and reliable timekeeping. For an additional touch, the wearer can also view the movement through the glass dial. While it’s only a glimpse, it adds an additional appeal to the watch.
A brushed 316L stainless steel bracelet, with solid links, concludes the design of this limited edition watch. A perfect match to the case, it lends a sleek and sophisticated look to the wrist. The bracelet fastens with a deployment clasp with a safety lock and micro-adjustments, so a safe and secure fit is certain.
