The 29er Big Small Edition 1994
The Case and Dial
With not one, but three different shades of blue, the Small Second is the first member of the 29er family to boast a three-tone dial. Its combination of an anthracite-coloured background, light-blue totaliser and anniversary-blue flange represents colour harmony at its best. In addition, the dial features applied baton indices and hands with a Super-LumiNova coating. Keeping true to the anniversary colour scheme, the small second hand is blue; it corresponds with the flange of the same colour within the minute track. Keeping in with the 155-year tradition of the Glashütte watch manufacturer, the 55-minute marker is replaced by a white 155. In addition, on the 30th day of each month, the date display appears in bright light blue.
Giving the 1994 edition 29er its very own character, a 42.4mm stainless steel case frames the dial. the case uses a variety of different finishes to create a stunning array of light reflections; like the sun sparkling in the waves. The bezel alone features both a brushed top surface and finely polished sides. In contrast, the side of the case has a vertical finish and is framed by the bezel and the screwed-on back; the sides of which are also perfectly polished. Ensuring great clarity, an anti-glare sapphire crystal protects the dial. Moreover, aided by the screw-in case back, the watch is water-resistant up to 100 metres.
The Movement and Finishing Touches
The case not only looks the part but also protects the SW 261-1 Mühle version automatic movement that powers the watch. The movement comes equipped with the efficient Mühle Edition rotor and the company’s shockproof woodpecker neck regulation. These impressive components allow it to be regulated in six different positions and set to ensure accuracy values between 0 and a maximum of +8 seconds per day. Furthermore, the movement boasts a 41-hour power reserve and for an added touch, the wearer can view it through the transparent case back.
A Mühle blue canvas strap concludes the design of the 29er Big Small Second Edition 1994. Rounded off by a stainless steel pin buckle, it complements the finish of the case perfectly. In addition, it provides great security on the wrist. Sturdy yet comfortable, the strap is the perfect finishing touch to this celebratory timepiece.
