The Dial and Case
Combining brushed and polished elements, a 42mm stainless steel case frames the dial of each watch. Fine details such as the polished bezel and the partially polished crown distinguish the new editions from classic watches. As well as this, they give the watches more of a stylish aesthetic; pairing well with both casual outfits and formal attire. Great levels of clarity and durability are essential features in a pilot’s watch. So to adhere to this, a high-quality sapphire crystal protects the dial.
The Augsburg Grün (862178) and Aachen Grün (862179) both feature a dark green dial with large white Arabic numeral indices and hands with a silver polished frame. For optimal readability, even in the dark, both of these have a SuperLuminova C1 filling. As far as similarities on the dial go, that’s where it stops as each model follows a different pilot watch style. Augsburg Grün follows the typical type A pattern with hour, minute and central second hands to ensure quick and clear readability. Whereas, Aachen Grün follows a type B pattern with minutes on the outer ring and hours on the inside for a slightly more technical appearance. No matter which model you prefer, you can guarantee that at a first glance each looks like a classic pilot watch.
The Movement and Finishing Touches
Laco’s first-rate German engineering ensures that both of these watches are powered by a high-quality and precise movement. Presented through a large sapphire glass case back is the automatic Laco 2S movement. Said movement is based on the proven Miyota 82S0 calibre, so precision is guaranteed. In addition to this, the movement features a power reserve of 42 hours and a stop-seconds function; making it a reliable timekeeper.
Completing the stylish look of each watch is a grey vintage-leather strap. Although intentionally understated, it picks up the colour of the dial with its green decorative stitching. To ensure great security, the strap fastens with a Laco logo-engraved pin buckle. Moreover, each watch is water-resistant up to 50 metres. So no matter if you’re in the cockpit or firm on the ground, each model is a confident companion for daily wear.
