The two new 5 Sports watches maintain a vintage aesthetic whilst modernising the original design. This allows them to perfectly encapsulate the history and heritage of the 5 Sports collection. Available with an ‘Ash Blue’ (SRPL03K1) or ‘Pepper Black’ (SRPL05K1) dial, the colours of these timepieces were popularised by the originals.

The Dial and Case

Both watches exhibit a date and weekday aperture in the 3 o’clock position. The dials also feature silver hour and minute hands alongside a bold red second hand. Protected by Hardlex glass, the watches are durable against knocks and bumps. A rotating bezel frames the dial and its luminous hands and indices. The dial is framed by a retro-inspired tonneau-shaped stainless steel case. Measuring 38.5mm in diameter and 12.4mm in depth, the case makes a statement on the wrist. It features a screw-fastened case back and is water resistant up to 10 bar. The case shape and size are as close to the original as possible. It has been updated for modern wear and improved functionality by adjusting the lugs and crown.

The Movement and Finishing Touches

The new watches are powered by a calibre 4R36 automatic movement. This provides the watch with up to 41 hours of power reserve. The vintage aesthetic is furthered by the solid links of the stainless steel bracelet that secures each watch. This bracelet is fastened using a three-fold clasp with a push button release. Each watch also comes with a calf leather strap, allowing the wearer to adjust the appearance of their timepiece to suit any outfit or occasion.
