The New Mechano Collection
The Case and Dial
The Mechano models are available with four different colour dials: blue (985986 41 45 20), black (985986 45 85 20), brown (985986 43 65 20), and green (985986 49 75 20). While the colour pathway varies, the dial layout and features are the same across all. Applied slender baton indices adorn each dial, and the hour marker at 12 o’clock is doubled. The visual highlight of each Mechano is of course the skeleton design. Allowing an interesting view into the Swiss-made movement, the round skeleton window is as impressive as it is unique. To ensure this intricate display remains in pristine condition, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass protects the dial of each model. Not only does the sapphire glass provide exceptional clarity, but it also showcases the great levels of durability that the watches possess.
Protecting the core of each watch is a stainless steel quadratic case. Measuring 39.5mm in diameter, it emphasises the stand-out vintage inspired design that each Mechano follows. On the posterior, each model features an exhibition case back. Through this, the wearer can observe the gears of the movement at work as well as appreciate the inner workings of their timepiece; with no rotor concealing any part. Moreover, each Mechano is water-resistant up to 50 metres.
The Movement and Finishing Touches
Winding a watch by hand remains a much appreciated ritual among watch enthusiasts and collectors around the world. So housed within each stainless steel case is an original in-house MST-23 hand-wound movement. Signed by Meyer and Stüdeli, it provides each Mechano with a 44-hour power reserve. So, even if you set your watch aside for a couple of days, it will still keep meticulous time.
Each Mechano watch is finished with a stainless steel bracelet that fastens with a butterfly clasp. However, the models come in an interchangeable box set, so another strap is also included. In colour coordination with the dial design, the strap will either be black (985986 45 85 20), blue (985986 41 45 20),or brown (985986 43 65 20 and 985986 49 75 20). Made from crocodile-style embossed leather, it will provide great comfort on the wrist, and thanks to the easy-change push-pin system, they can change their look in no time at all!
