The New Laco Kiel Sport
The Dial and Case
This watch exhibits a matte black dial with a date-day aperture at 3 o’clock. For maximum contrast, the baton indices and Arabic numerals are generously coated with SuperLuminova C3. Moreover, the hour and minute hands are thermally blued and are also filled with SuperLuminova C3 for optimal readability. A pilot triangle features at 12 o’clock, not only does it add to the overall aesthetic of the watch but it also helps the wearer to read the time at a glance; both during the day and at night. Great levels of clarity and durability are essential features in a pilot watch. So to ensure this, a doubled domed sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective crystal protects the dial.
In contrast to the Kiel.2 models, the 43mm stainless steel case of the Kiel Sport has a dark sandblasted finish. This surface treatment not only prevents reflections and contributes to an expressive, monochrome appearance, but it also connects with the other Laco pilot watches that share this special feature. Furthermore, a unidirectional 60-click ceramic bezel surrounds the dial. Offering exceptional hardness and scratch resistance, the bezel is designed to be particularly grippy for ease of operation; even with gloves. As well as this, the 60-click ratcheting allows a precise adjustment of time in small one-minute increments.
The Movement and Finishing Touches
Laco’s first-rate German engineering ensures that the Kiel Sport is powered by a high-quality and precise movement. Presented through a sapphire crystal case back, an automatic chronograph calibre Laco 500 powers the timepiece. In addition to the chronograph functions, it also displays the day of the week and the date. Moreover, it provides the watch with an impressive power reserve of 56 hours.
A black calf leather strap, with light stitching, completes the design of the timepiece. Rounded off by a dark sandblasted pin buckle with the Laco Laco, it echoes the finish of the case perfectly. As well as this, it provides great security on the wrist.
