In exciting news, today Longines has launched all-new Conquest Heritage Central Power Reserve watches. With a selection of three models, this new release marks the Conquest Collection’s 70th anniversary. All the models take inspiration from an iconic 1950s release that was the first Longines watch to be protected by the Federal Intellectual Property Office. This legacy now lives on in the Conquest Heritage collection which combines timeless design with modern-day technology. The New Conquest Heritage Central Power Reserve Watches
Case and Dial
Keeping true to the original, the dial of each model has two indented circles. However, the case size has increased from 35mm to 38mm. The vintage-style indices, frame of the date window and Swiss Super-LumiNova filled hands vary in colour depending on the dial. The champagne dial has gold-coloured appliques (L16484782), the black dial has silver-coloured ones (L16484522) and the anthracite grey dial has rose gold-coloured ones (L16484622). The Longines logo is displayed under the date window of each model, however the iconic winged hourglass is not featured. In addition, the centre of each dial sees Longines’ unique version of a power reserve indicator. The rotating discs work in tandem, based on the current state of wind, to display the watch’s impressive power reserve.
A scratch-resistant sapphire crystal encases the dial with an anti-reflective coating on both sides. Not only does this provide high clarity but it also showcases the great durability levels of these watches. All three watches in this launch exhibit a transparent case back that blends form and function. While showcasing the watch’s movement, it also highlights the art and craftsmanship that has gone into its design. Moreover, the trio of watches are water-resistant up to 50 metres (5 bar).
Movement and Finishing Touches
Each Conquest Heritage Central Power Reserve watch is fit with a Longines exclusive L896 calibre. This self-winding movement beats at 25’200 vibrations per hour and can be enjoyed through the transparent case back. It also has a monocrystalline silicone balance spring, which offers superior magnetic resistance. As well as this, it provides an impressive power reserve of up to 72 hours.
All three watches are finished with a durable alligator leather strap. The champagne and black dial models both come with a black leather strap while the anthracite grey dial model has a matching grey leather strap. The choice of leather reinforces elements of elegance into the watches; something Longines pride themselves on. While paying homage to the original Conquest model, each strap complements its corresponding dial perfectly.
Even though the movement has been upgraded to meet modern-day standards, and the case size has slightly increased, these watches still have the retro look and feel of the original Conquest power reserve model. If the new trio of watches have caught your eye, click here to view them on our website.
