Get heatwave-ready with the new Maurice Lacroix AIKON Automatic Summer Editions! This summer, Maurice Lacroix is putting a beachy twist on its beloved urban-themed AIKON line. Released in 2016 the original AIKON line was an immediate hit for its ice-cool street style. Injecting some warmth into the collection, the six new AIKON pieces introduce three new juicy colours to the series, including Ballerina Pink, Tanager Turquoise and Orange Soda.

Core Specifications of the New Maurice Lacroix AIKON Automatic Summer Editions
Although each of the colourways and sizes has its own distinctive quirks, there are some traits universal across them all. For instance, framing each of the bold dials is a stainless steel case and bezel. Their robust build helps to lock in an impressive 200 metres of water resistance, increasing your watch’s dependability. Aesthetically, there is also lots to admire. Detailing this bezel are six thick arms, which accent each of the even hour markers. Additionally, all models also have three luminescent hands and luminescent baton indices, so that the watch is easily readable even in limited lighting.
To give you even more versatility, all the watches also come with a choice of two straps. The first is a rubber strap which matches the colour of each dial. However, made from FKM rubber, no expense is spared. FKM rubber is more durable and flexible in comparison to its standard counterpart. Additionally, it was deliberately chosen by the brand for this line as it’s also considerably less susceptible to colour fading. This means that your watch will be looking brand new for longer. The second strap choice is a classic stainless steel bracelet. With its 5-row design, it’s perfect for evening holiday wear. Thanks to the Easy Strap Exchange System on each model, these straps are easily interchangeable to fit your mood.
Moreover, the movement beating within each of the watches is equally as powerful regardless of the model’s size. Powering each watch is the brand’s in-house ML 115 calibre, which is an automatic mechanical movement.
However, each model also has its own unique offering. With three different sizes to choose from, the whole collection is inclusive to all genders.
The 35mm – Available in Ballerina Pink or Tanager Turquoise
The stainless steel case on the first two models in the collection measures 35mm. Although considered a feminine size, this downsized case actually joins in on the growing trend of shrinking dial sizes which was first spotted at this year’s Watches and Wonders. As a result, don’t let the smaller dial size deter you.
With a choice of two beautifully summery colours, you’re spoilt for choice. The first is the Ballerina Pink (AI6006-SS00F-550-E), which takes on a dainty pale hue. Its muted nature makes it easily pairable with other colours, whilst still making a statement on the wrist. Contrasting this, the second colour available is the tantalising Tanager Turquoise (AI6006-SS00F-451-C). Bold yet refreshingly so, this colourway is intended to make more of an impact than its counterpart.
One of the standout features of the 35mm is the dial’s higher level of attentive detail. Whilst the principal four positions on the dial are marked with silver luminescent baton indices, the eight others are crystal set. Sitting beautifully upon the Clous de Paris textured dial, these eight dazzling crystals glisten beautifully under the summer sunlight. As a final practical touch, replacing the 3 o’clock hour marker is a date display.
The 39mm – Available in Ballerina Pink or Tanager Turquoise
Slightly bigger than the former, the 39mm models also come in Ballerina Pink (AI6007-SS00F-530-E) and Tanager Turquoise (AI6007-SS00F-431-C). However, there are some minor differences to the smaller size, primarily on the dial.
Instead of a mixture of indices, only baton indices adorn the dial. To mirror the accented bezel, the batons are doubled up at 12, 6, and 9 o’clock. Instead of a marker, a rectangular date display rests at the 3 o’clock position. This more minimalistic design draws more attention to the Clous de Paris texture of the dial.
The 42mm – Available in Tanager Turquoise or Orange Soda
The third and final instalment of the summer edition models introduces the show-stopping Orange Soda colourway (AI6008-SS00F-530-E). Its vibrant hue echoes that of the hot midday holiday sun, and its energetic character refuses to be dulled even on the cloudiest of days. As with the other two dial sizes, there is also the oceanic Tanager Turquoise (AI6008-SS00F-431-C) dial colourway available too.
The 42mm options follow the same dial design as the 39mm. However, the Orange Soda option strays from the silver-tone hands and indices characteristic of the pink and turquoise colourways. Instead, framing the luminescent inlay of the hands and indices is a slate grey colour. Not only does this darker shade reinforce the dial’s readability, but it also allows the buoyancy of the orange colour to take centre stage.
