The All-New Sinn 156 Watches
Sinn 156.1 Pilot Chronograph Automatic (43mm) Black Dial / Vintage Black Leather Strap 156.030-LEATHER
Striking the perfect balance between historic and contemporary, this model exhibits a matte black dial with two sub-dials and a date aperture at 3 o’clock. As well as this, the dial features hour and minute hands, and Arabic numerals; all of which feature a luminescent colour coating for optimal readability. For an additional pop of colour, the subsidiary seconds hand, the 6 o’clock sub-dial hand and the 60-minute stop function from the dial centre are all bright red.
Housing this design is a bead-blasted 43mm stainless steel case. On its front, a sapphire crystal with both interior and exterior anti-reflective treatment encloses the dial. The watch’s captive pilot’s bezel, made of stainless steel, features a Black Hard Coating on a TEGIMENT Technology basis. The bezel also has a luminescent fixed point at the 12 o’clock position; which ensures that the position of the set reference time can be clearly identified in the dark. The newly designed screw-fastened case back, alongside the screw-down crown, helps to lock in the watch’s water and pressure resistance rating of 10 bar. The watch is also low-pressure resistant.
An automatic, self-winding movement, of the calibre SZ01, powers the watch. This movement uses 28 bearing jewels and 28,800 semi-oscillations per hour to power the timepiece. It also has a seconds stop function and is anti-magnetic as per DIN 8309. This all-new Sinn 156 watch is finished with a black cowhide leather strap in vintage style. For great comfort and security on the wrist, it fastens with a pin buckle clasp. However, if this is not to your taste, the watch is also available with an H-Link stainless steel bracelet with a diving extension (156.030-HLINK-DIVEREXT) or an H-Link stainless steel bracelet with a fine adjustment (156.030-HLINK-MICROADJUSTMENT).
Sinn 156.1 E Limited Edition Pilot Chronograph Automatic (43mm) Black Dial / Steel Bracelet & Strap Set 156.031
Limited to 300 pieces, this historic pilot’s watch is unmistakably appealing. Like its familiar 156.1 model, the matte black dial exhibits two sub-dials and a date aperture at 3 o’clock. However, the date aperture on this watch is in the shape of the Kollsman window of an aviation altimeter. The Arabic numerals as well as the hour and minute hands are covered with ivory-coloured luminescent colour. This type of contrasting application conveys a stylish vintage look and creates a further visual link to history. More scratch-resistant than the acrylic glass used in the original 155 model, sapphire crystal glass protects the dial. Its anti-reflective coating, on both sides, ensures great legibility.
Housing this design is a bead-blasted 43mm stainless steel case. The watch’s captive pilot’s bezel, made of stainless steel, features a Hard Coating in anthracite on a TEGIMENT Technology basis. In contrast to the historical models, the pilot‘s bezel has a luminescent fixed point as a striking symbol in the marking at 12 o‘clock. Due to its robust and durable design, the watch is waterproof and pressure-resistant to 10 bar; it meets the requirements for waterproofness as set out in standard DIN 8310.
An in-house automatic SZ01 chronograph movement powers the watch. This movement is integrated into a newly designed screw-in case back which is aesthetically modelled on its historical predecessors. With this model, Sinn is treating us to a set of two straps. Sleek and sophisticated, the bead-blasted solid stainless steel bracelet fastens with a foldover clasp. Whereas, the black cowhide leather strap fastens with a pin buckle clasp and follows a more vintage style.
