The All-New Seiko Presage Watches
Seiko Presage Craftsmanship – Urushi GMT (40.2mm) Black Dial / Black Leather Strap SPB447J1
This timepiece combines functionality with traditional Japanese aesthetics – blending the craftsmanship of Urushi lacquering with the travel convenience of a GMT function; which displays multiple time zones at once. The deep black Urushi lacquer dial, crafted using a centuries-old technique, features white baton indices, white hour and minute hands, and gold-coloured GMT and second hands. The GMT and second hands extend right to the edge of the dial, for an elevated appearance, which also assists in easier legibility. Further enhancing this legibility, a date aperture features at 3 o’clock. Ensuring both great clarity and durability, a dual-curve sapphire glass protects the dial. Moreover, a 40.2mm stainless steel case, with a super hard coating, frames the dial.
Within the case lies the watch’s in-house built calibre 6R54 movement. With a 72-hour power reserve and a GMT function, said movement guarantees reliable, precise and accurate timekeeping. A brown calf leather strap, with gold-coloured stitching, concludes the classic design of this timepiece. And staying true to the ‘Presage Craftsmanship’ collection name, the leather utilised in the strap is LWG-sourced and certified by an LWG-certified tanner. Finally, it’s important to note that as the watch’s dial is created by hand, with Urushi lacquer, it may have slight differences in colour or minute distortions. These are unique features of handcrafted Urushi lacquer dials, of which no two are exactly alike.
Seiko Presage Cocktail Time – Star Bar Compact Style (30.3mm) Grey Dial / Stainless Steel Bracelet SRE015J1
This piece is one of two designs inspired by the ‘Night Time Tokyo’ drink; a new dark creation from Star Bar’s Head Bartender, Hisashi Kishi. The timepiece features a black-to-grey gradation dial with a date aperture at 3 o’clock. A subtle but stylish detail, the pattern of the dial is inspired by the view of ice in a cocktail glass. The dial also features gold-coloured hands and dagger-shaped indices, representative of Tokyo’s nighttime city lights. A box-shaped Hardlex crystal, with a multi-sided cut inside, protects the dial. Designed to resemble the glittering lights of the night sky, the multi-sided cut complements the glamorous appeal of the watch flawlessly. Measuring 30.3mm in diameter, a stainless steel case frames the dial. While small in size, the watch makes a great statement on the wrist.
Ensuring great precision, an in-house Seiko calibre 2R05 automatic movement powers this Star Bar Compact Style watch. Accurate to +45 / -35 seconds per day, and with a 40-hour power reserve, it will never let you down. A mirror-finished stainless steel bracelet secures the watch to the wrist and concludes the design of the limited edition model. With its timeless look and precise mechanical timekeeping, this timepiece is sure to be a great success; especially amongst elegant ladies.
Seiko Presage Cocktail Time – Star Bar (40.5mm) Grey Dial / Stainless Steel Bracelet SRPK93J1
The larger of the two Star Bar models, this timepiece is perfect for sophisticated gentlemen. Its design is near-identical to its smaller companion, so together the duo make for great ‘His and Hers’ watches. Like its smaller sibling, the black-to-grey gradient dial exhibits gold-coloured hands, dagger-shaped indices and a date aperture. As well as this, the dial features the same pattern; which depicts the view of ice in a cocktail glass. Providing good levels of durability and clarity, a box-shaped Hardlex crystal protects the dial. A notable increase from the previous watch, the stainless steel case of this Star Bar model measures 40.5mm in diameter. Moreover, the case and its crown help to aid the watch’s 50-metre water resistance rating.
A 4R35 automatic movement, with a 41-hour power reserve, powers this timepiece. Safely housed within the stainless steel case, said movement ensures both great precision and accuracy. Designed to resemble the glittering lights of the Tokyo night sky, the watch is finished with a mirror-finished stainless steel bracelet. Its deployment clasp, with push button release, not only provides great security on the wrist but also comfort. A dark creation which captures the beautiful scenery of Tokyo by night, this timepiece oozes luxury flair. Sure to stand out on the wrist, it impresses with its fusion of minimalistic watch design with a distinctly Japanese aesthetic.
