While not new, these features, and several more, are loved and trusted by those who use them. Hence their inclusion within the multisport GPS smartwatch.
A new addition, however, to the Fenix 8 series is the built-in microphone and speaker; allowing for on-wrist calls and voice commands without needing to pair with a smartphone. Garmin has also introduced advanced strength training features and refined mapping and navigation tools, making it an even more versatile choice for athletes and outdoor enthusiasts alike. The world is your oyster, and Fenix 8 is there to explore it with you.
Beyond its generous sports and navigational functionality, Fenix 8 also has other smart applications; such as synced notifications, music storage, and Garmin Pay™ contactless payments. Additionally, these watches have 24/7 health and body energy monitoring, nap detection and women’s health tracking. More than just a sporting sidekick, these watches are the ultimate companions for day-to-day life; proving to be beneficial in various scenarios.
Appearance
Fenix 8 effortlessly conquers its competition. With its scratch-resistant sapphire AMOLED display, training to perform has never looked so good. This screen is securely set into a fibre-reinforced polymer case equipped with a metal cover on the rear. Each dive-rated case also features leakproof buttons and a metal sensor guard cover to protect against harsh conditions. These leakproof buttons ensure that even below 40 meters of depth, divers can return to the 40-meter mark and the watch will still operate fine.
To accommodate each individual need, Fenix 8 comes with three different case sizes: 43mm, 47mm, and 51mm. A robust titanium or stainless steel bezel frames each dial, so optimal durability is guaranteed; no matter which size you pick. Fenix 8 also comes in a Solar variety, with two different case sizes: 47mm and 51mm (see options in the 47mm and 51mm sections above). While these watches do not include an AMOLED display, but rather a solar-charging lens, they still impress with their rugged designs and array of advanced features.
As for colourways, the new range has a versatile selection. Each case size consists of the classic Carbon Grey model, however, there are also a few case-specific colourways. Finishing many of these models is a classic rubber strap, but for some models, there is also a leather strap option. These include the 51mm titanium with brown leather (010-02905-40) and the 43mm fog grey with soft gold leather (010- 02903-40). Moreover, one of the 47mm models comes with a complete titanium bracelet (010-02904-40) to ensure optimal durability.
Across all the different-sized models, the battery life is very impressive. Each watch can last weeks without any need for recharging. At its best, the battery is able to last up to 29 days on 51mm case models. This is followed by 16 days on 47mm models and 10 days on 43mm models. However, the solar-charging models are where the impressive nature of the battery life gets to shine through. With solar, the battery can last 28 days on the 47mm case and up to 48 days on the 51mm case!
