The History of Allemano Time Watches
The story of Allemano began in 1856 when Giuseppe Allemano established a factory dedicated to producing steam rollers for roadworks. However, it wasn’t until 1919 that production for the company evolved. Measuring instruments for controlling pressure and temperatures that were designed for use on military vehicles and some of the first Italian cars was the way forward. One of these vehicles was the Fiat 501 Torpedo; the first Italian car to be produced in series and a huge inspiration for the future of Allemano Time watches.
In 1929, Giuseppe’s son, Felice renamed the company ‘Allemano F. & Figli’, intensifying the precision mechanics for the construction of very high precision monometers, thermometers and dynamometers. All three of these boasted the iconic Allemano logo, in fact so iconic that it is still used today. Over the nest few years, the Allemano name made its way across the world being used for aviation, as pressure gauges for gasoline and oil control and for the railway and naval sectors. In 1980, they also began specialising in the assembly of underwater instruments; such as depth gauges and decompressors.
In 2010, Allemano created its own calibration laboratory. Fast forward nine years, and Allemano’s Time Measures were born. A series of stunning, luxury wristwatches these timepieces draw inspiration from the precision instruments of Allemano’s past.

1919 Collection
The 1919 Collection represents the first turning point in the history of Allemano Time watches. Conceived and created in 2019, this collection has a design inspired by the past. More specifically, drawing inspiration from the first pressure instruments, created by Allemano, that were mounted on the legendary Fiat 501 Torpedo. Breaking the collection down, it consists of three sub-categories; those being GMT, Day and Day SVA 10. Each with their own flair, they suit the hectic lives of those always on the go.
Our 1919 Collection Pick: Allemano 1919 GMT Polished Automatic (44mm) Antique White Dial / Black Leather Strap GMT A 1919 SP-LW
The antique white dial features matte black Arabic numerals and matching hands. However, for a pop of colour, one of the hands is red. As a standard, the watch has hour, minute and second hands, but for those who constantly travel this is not enough. Hence, the GMT hand which allows for the option to display a second time zone. Measuring 44mm in diameter, and with a polished finish, a stainless steel case frames the dial. And for optimal durability, a sapphire crystal protects the dial. Overleaf, the watch features a sapphire crystal exhibition case back. Through this the wearer can observe and enjoy the movement that powers the timepiece. Said movement is automatic with a 42-hour power reserve. A soft black Italian leather strap, with red accents, concludes the design of this Allemano; its stainless steel pin buckle clasp ensures great security.
A watch made to keep up with varying time zones and locations, this Allemano ensures you’ll be travelling in great style with great precision.
1973 Collection
The 1973 Collection represents another piece of Allemano’s history. The collection pays homage to the Crab and Shark depth gauges which, thanks to their technical innovation, dictated the law in underwater mechanics in the 1970s and 1980s. The new line, created in 2022, consists of a modern re-edition of the historic Crab and the new Shark underwater timepieces. Incredibly practical, they are the ultimate companion for both deep sea dives and on-land adventures.
Our 1973 Collection Pick: Allemano 1973 Yellow Shark & Crab Depth Gauge Re-Issue (42mm) Yellow Dial / Stainless Steel Bracelet SH-A-1973-P-Y-DP
This Shark & Crab model pays homage to the technical innovation of Allemano depth gauges. The yellow dial features a mix of white baton indices and Arabic numerals, cream hour and minute hands, and a red second hand. As well as this, a magnified date aperture features at 4 o’clock. The hour and minute hands feature a SuperLuminova coating; so no matter if you’re in the dark or underwater, time is still visible. Like all Allemano watches, sapphire crystal glass protects the dial and a 316L stainless steel case frames it; an automatic movement lies within this case. A black unidirectional bezel also frames the dial; it ensures great safety whilst diving. On this model the crown features at 4 o’clock. This may be an unusual position, however due to the angle, it won’t dig into the wearer’s wrist. Great comfort is guaranteed, and the stainless steel bracelet highlights this further.
Bold and bright, this Allemano makes a great addition to any wrist. Whether you wear it for dives, or just as an every day accessory, it will never let you down.
