The All-New U-Boat Classico 45 Tungsteno Watch
The Dial and Movement
Inspired by the atmosphere and landscape of the Tuscany region, this watch exhibits a three-level green metal dial. Enhancing the robust appearance of the timepiece, the dial is adorned with beige Arabic numerals and baton indices. The hour, minute and second hands are also beige, while the 24-hour hand is red. For optimal readability, the hands and indices are both treated with beige Super-LumiNova. With various chronograph functions and a date aperture at 9 o’clock, U-Boat have shown that they don’t just focus on the appearance of a watch; the functionality is entirely as important.
A high-quality sapphire crystal, with anti-reflective treatment, protects the dial. While it provides great clarity, it also showcases the great durability levels that the watch possesses. The Classico 45 Tungsteno is fit with a Sellita SW 500 movement.; an automatic chronograph movement with technical modifications to meet U-Boat specifications. It beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour and boasts an impressive power-reserve of up to 62 hours.
The Case and Finishing Touches
To ensure the watch stands out on the wrist, a 45mm stainless steel case frames the dial. Alongside this is a scratch-resistant, polished tungsten bezel which preserves the beauty of the watch, and a crown extraction lever at 8:30. The crown is placed on the left-hand side and is fitted with U-Boat’s patented crown protection system. The case back’s U-shaped opening, with sapphire crystal, allows the wearer to enjoy the movement which powers the watch. As well as this, it reinforces the unique nature of U-Boat timepieces.
Completing the design of the watch is a black laser-cut leather strap; aged through a natural process. Handcrafted in Tuscany by skilled artisans, it highlights the exceptional craftsmanship that U-Boat put into each watch. The strap secures with a steel tongue buckle, so great security and comfort on the wrist is guaranteed. Moreover, the watch is water-resistant up to 100 metres so it is an ideal companion for daily wear.
