The Dial and Movement

Reinforcing Bulova’s spacefaring history, this watch exhibits a six-hand chronograph dial crafted from a genuine Muonionalusta meteorite. The meteorite itself is 4.5 billion years old and was discovered in Northern Scandinavia in 1906. While each dial is adorned with slim hands and applied baton indices, the varied crystalline pattern of the Muonionalusta meteorite means no two dials are the same. This level of uniqueness makes the watch even more special. For increased legibility, the hands and indices are applied with a luminescent material. So even if you’re in complete darkness, the time is still visible. The dial also features three circular grooved sub-dials which highlight the impressive functionality of the timepiece.

A high-quality flat sapphire crystal protects the dial. While it provides great clarity, it also showcases the great durability levels that the watch possesses. The Lunar Pilot Meteorite is powered by Bulova’s proprietary high precision quartz movement. Resonating at a frequency of 262kHz it has unparalleled accuracy as well as a sweeping chronograph hand.

The Case and Finishing Touches

The Lunar Pilot Meteorite features a 43.5mm sandblasted silver-tone grade 5 titanium case with polished accents. It creates a dynamic and incredibly lightweight presence on the wrist. To ensure great comfort, slim chronograph pushers and a crown with the Bulova turning fork logo are featured at 3 o’clock. This positioning also makes the watch more aesthetically pleasing; it looks proportionate and balanced.

Completing the design of this watch is a fitted black leather strap that fastens with a pin buckle. The strap comes equipped with an easy release system, so quick changes are of great ease. Moreover, the watch is water-resistant up to 50 metres (5 bar).
