Case and Dial
Hamilton is pleased to announce two new variants, each coated in PVD and measuring 42.5mm. The first features a rose gold case (H24525332) while the second features a black case (H24535332). Both timepieces feature a black skeleton dial with cutaways that reveal a dragon’s face. To perfectly fit the Ventura’s iconic and avant-garde shape, the dragon’s face is 90 degrees clockwise on the dial. On the rose gold model, the dragon has piercing green eyes, however on the all-black model the dragon has flaming red eyes. Ensuring that attention stays on the dragon, the dial of each model is adorned with hour, minute and seconds hands only. For late-night legibility, the hour and minute hands are coated with Super-LumiNova.
A sapphire crystal with several layers of anti-reflective coating protects the dial, so durability levels are great. Blending form and function, each model features an exhibition case back. Not only does it protect the watch’s components but it also spotlights the art and craftsmanship that has gone into each watch’s design.
Movement and Finishing Touches
A H-10-S movement beats under the dial of each watch. The movement is a three-hand automatic with an 80-hour power reserve. Located at the heart of each skeleton-style dial, this Swiss calibre features an intricate snail and pearl pattern. Thanks to the cutaways on the dial, and the exhibition case back, the wearer can view the movement and watch it power away. Alongside this, a Nivachron balance spring helps to keep the watch functioning as accurately as possible.
The Ventura Elvis80 Skeleton Dragon is finished with a black rubber strap. For an additional flair, it exhibits a three-dimensional scale pattern. Resembling the scales seen on a dragon, it showcases Hamilton’s great attention to detail. Aided by their crown, each model boasts a water resistance of up to 50 metres. So regardless of how you’re bringing in the Year of the Dragon, this watch deserves a place on your wrist.
