Earlier this week, Hamilton launched new Pan Europ watches. Its existing Pan Europ models form part of the American Classic collection which embraces the brand’s proud US roots. Introducing two retro-inspired colourways to the range, the new Pan Europ Autos blend nostalgic charm with contemporary technology. These models are available either in a warm beige or springy sage green. Without further ado, let’s get stuck further into these two exciting Hamilton launches.
The New Pan Europ Hamilton Launches
Hamilton American Classic Pan Europ Day Date Auto (42mm) Green Dial / Green & Brown Straps H35445860
The first of the two new Pan Europs is this beautiful sage green model. At the centre of the design is a pale pistachio sunray dial with complementary silver accents. These include the silver-tone baton indices, which are luminescent for optimal night-time readability. Additionally, silver-tone hour and minute hands sweep the dial and also have a luminescent inlay. Contrasting these two hands is the second hand, which is deep brown. Added functions on the dial include the weekday and date displays, which rest at the 3 o’clock position. Finally, tying the design together is a unidirectional brown bezel with a softly serrated edge. Bright but not overbearing, the dial’s colour scheme is truly stunning.
However, it’s the model’s case that makes the boldest statement. At 42mm wide and 11.55mm thick, its chunky cushion shape sits proudly on the wrist. Indeed, this works particularly well to foreground the dial’s soft colours. Moreover, supporting its robust nature is the durable sapphire crystal that seals the dial.
Beating inside the watch’s case is Hamilton’s own H-30 calibre automatic movement. This is viewable through the exhibition case back and boasts a hefty 80 hours of power reserve. The movement also features a Nivachron balance spring, which significantly reduces the impact of magnetic interference.
Generously, the watch comes with a choice of two straps. The first is made from sage green perforated cow leather and aims to match the dial’s main colour. It also features oversized adjustment holes for an added twist on the classic watch strap. For improved comfort, the second choice is a brown NATO-style strap which echoes the colour of the bezel.
Hamilton American Classic Pan Europ Day Date Auto (42mm) Beige Dial / Beige & Burgundy Straps H35435820
Hamilton’s beige Pan Europ is the sage green’s more neutral counterpart. However, whilst its colour scheme is more versatile, its slightly off-beat vintage charm is retained by its warmth. The dial is more of a golden beige and exhibits contrasting silver indices and hands. It has all of the same features as the sage green edition, including the 3 o’clock day and date display. Moreover, like the former model, its second hand matches the colour of the bezel. But this time, in line with the warmer feel of the watch, the bezel and accent hand are burgundy.
The bold stainless steel cushion-shaped case also measures 42mm on the beige Pan Europ. Furthermore, it is equipped with the same mighty H-30 automatic movement, which is shown off through the exhibition case back.
Likewise, the wearer also has an option of two straps. These include a matching beige cow leather strap with an oversized adjustment loop design and a burgundy NATO-style strap for a pop of colour.
