The brand new Calibre 473 movement is powered by a new hand-wound calibre. It is the brand’s tenth in-house movement in 10 years, proving Oris’s commitment to development.
The New Calibre 473 Movement
Oris’s brand-new movement will provide a timepiece with up to five days of power reserve. This ensures that the wearer is never left without the time. A power indicator can be found on the reverse of the movement, keeping the wearer well-informed. The movement is highly antimagnetic and comes with a 10-year warranty. The recommended service intervals of this movement are 10-year intervals to ensure that it can continue to run smoothly.
This movement allows for centre hands for hour and minutes with a subsidiary seconds display at 6 o’clock. In addition, a pointer date hand is also set at the centre of the dial. Using vibrations of 28’800 A/h, 4Hz and 27 jewels, the movement will provide up to 120 hours of power reserve.

The Dial
The dial of this new timepiece is designed in a striking shade of blue. Blue watches have become a staple in horological design. The dial is decorated with bold, easy-to-read Arabic hour markers and silver hour and minute hands. Both the hands and indices are coated with C3 Superluminova to ensure that the dial can easily be read in the dark. The dial and its features are protected by domed and anti-reflective sapphire glass. A pointer date hand is set at the centre of the dial. It features a red tip, making its journey around the dial easy to follow.
The Case and Finishing Touches
The Calibre 473 movement is safely housed within a stainless steel case. This case measures 38mm in diameter to create a bold look on the wrist. The case also features an exhibition case back that is created using sapphire glass. In addition, the crown exhibits a screw-in design to allow for water resistance of up to 5 bar. This new timepiece is secured using a brown leather strap. The leather used in this watch is from Cervo Volante to ensure a luxurious finish.
