These watches have been launched to celebrate Junghans status as the Official Timing Partner for the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships. This year, the prestigious event will take place between the 21st of February and the 5th of March in Planica, Slovenia. The Championships consist of many exciting events such as ski jumping and cross-country skiing. The new watches embody the special connection between Junghans and winter sports. This link is emphasised in the sports-style colour palette that references the bold style of the 1970s – an era when Junghans accompanied numerous major sporting events.
Junghans 1972 Competition FIS Edition Lemon 27/4305.00
This watch is designed in the style of a handheld stopwatch. The controls are located at the top of the watch case to emphasise this vintage aesthetic. This timepiece features a tachymeter scale with a chronograph to cater to the wearer’s timekeeping needs. The lemon-varnished dial is adorned with two black sub-dials and glowing hands and hour markers. This contrast makes the dial easy to read. A sanded stainless steel case surrounds the dial. It exhibits a unique ellipse shape and measures 45.5mm in diameter. An engraved case back and screwed crown provides the finishing touches to the case. This watch is powered by a calibre J880.5 automatic movement that provides up to 48 hours of power reserve. A lemon leather strap secures this watch on the wrist. A bold black unidirectional rotating bezel gives this timepiece a distinctly sporty look. This model is powered by a calibre J645.83 quartz movement. The movement is housed within a timeless stainless steel case that is detailed with an engraved case back. The case measures a comfortable 43.3mm in diameter and 11.3mm in depth. A vibrant lemon-varnished dial. Two black sub-dials and a black date display stand out from their vibrant backdrop. This dial and its luminescent features are protected by flat sapphire crystal. The design of this timepiece is completed with a lemon leather strap that exhibits circular cutouts and a black lining. In addition, this timepiece is water resistant up to 10 bar.
