Today, Luminox announce a special edition Navy SEAL Foundation watch. This exciting new timepiece has been launched especially for Veteran’s Day to honour those who have and are currently serving in the uniformed services. The watch is built for action and meets the military’s rigorous specifications. This means that the timepiece will be a reliable and valuable companion, even in adverse conditions. Luminox’s link with the Navy SEALS is very long-standing. Over the years, the two organisations have developed several timepieces which aim to help a range of people in a variety of ways.
Luminox and the Navy SEALS
The connection between Luminox and the Navy SEALS dates back to 1992. It began when a man named Nick North was tasked with finding a reliable watch for SEAL night missions. North was a Research, Development, Test and Evaluation officer for the SEALs making him the perfect man for the job. Together, the SEALs and Luminox produced a watch that would meet the military’s rigorous specifications.
Over the years, the bond between Luminox and the Navy SEALs has strengthened and now encompasses the Navy SEAL Foundation. The Foundation is dedicated to “providing critical support for the warriors, veterans, and families of Naval Special Welfare”, making it an incredibly important cause. This new watch is a tribute to the Navy SEAL Foundation as a way to honour it for its years of service.

The Dial and Movement
This watch features a deep blue dial which draws the eye to the centre of the timepiece. The dial exhibits bold white baton and Arabic numeral indices. This allows the dial to be easy to read at a glance, making it perfect for someone who is always on the move. White hour and second hands are mounted at the centre of the dial, along with a bold orange minute hand. The vibrant colour of this minute hand makes it easier to track every critical minute that passes when in a challenging situation.
A date display is featured at 3 o’clock. It is enhanced with a magnifying glass which is set into the anti-reflective sapphire glass that protects the dial. The most important features of the dial are highlighted using Luminox Light Technology. This technology uses gas tubes which will ensure the dial is ‘Always Visible’ for up to 25 years. This watch is powered by a precise and reliable quartz movement.
The Case and Finishing Touches
The case and unidirectional rotating bezel of this robust timepiece are both crafted from Carbonox. This is a material created by Luminox that is both lightweight and durable. These characteristics make it the perfect choice for a military timepiece. The stainless steel case back emphasises the watch’s link to the Navy SEAL Foundation. It is decorated with the Foundation’s Eagle and Anchor logo to pay honour to veterans of the uniformed services. The case measures 45mm in diameter and 14mm in depth to ensure a comfortable fit on the wrist. This watch is secured on the wrist using a black rubber strap that is fastened using a stainless steel buckle. Additionally, this new watch is water resistant up to 200 metres, making it suitable for most water-based activities.
