This week, Laco release pilot watch duo. Laco does not often release new watches, making this event especially exciting for any fans of the brand. This brand is infamous for its iconic and classic pilot watch designs. It has become a staple for any pilot watch enthusiast. This new elegant pilot watch duo exhibits two contrasting colour options: black or white. This monochromatic colour palette is incredibly striking and creates a truly timeless look. The watches in this launch revive the classic ‘Kiel’ design. They are simply named the Kiel 2. These two new watches exhibit an unmistakable pilot watch design. This is combined with the high functionality of a chronograph to create a stunning timepiece.
The New Kiel 2 Watches
Laco’s latest launch consists of two timepieces: the Weiss and the Schwarz. In the creation of these watches, Laco has placed a huge amount of focus on the development and redevelopment of the pilot’s watch. The brand has brought the long history of the pilot watch into the modern day by updating and adapting many key features. These changes have made the new models perfect companions for any challenges that the wearer may face in day-to-day life. The watches are designed with a classic instrument look. This aesthetic is inspired by the brand’s historical models. However, one major change to the traditional design is the case size. The proportions of the case have been streamlined to create a more elegant fit whilst retaining the same distinct style.
The Dial and Movement
These two new models are available in two options of dial colour: Weiss (862153) and Schwarz (862148). The eye-catching white dial is detailed with bold and easy-to-read black Arabic indices. Meanwhile, the dark and classic black dial features white Arabic indices. Each of the watches features a chronograph function and a day and date display. These complications enhance the functionality of the timepieces. Thermally blued hour, minute and second hands are mounted at the centre of each dial. Their vibrant colour provides a pleasant contrast to the simple black-and-white colour palette.
The most important details of each dial are highlighted using C3 Superluminova. This ensures that they can be seen in the dark. The dials and their features are protected using sapphire glass to provide a good level of durability. Additionally, the watches are powered by calibre Laco 500 automatic chronograph movements. These movements provide up to 56 hours of power reserve.
The Case and Finishing Touches
The dial and movement of each model are housed safely within a robust stainless steel case. This case has been precisely designed for the modern wearer. They measure 43mm in diameter and 14mm in depth. This depth is slim enough to fit comfortably beneath the sleeve of a men’s dress shirt. Each case is equipped with an exhibition case back that is created using sapphire glass. This feature enables the wearer to observe and enjoy the powerful movement within their timepiece. Both the black and white dial models are completed with a classic black leather strap. However, the straps are detailed with some classic pilot watch elements. These include pale contrast stitching and metal rivets. Finally, these watches are water resistant up to 10 bar, making them a practical and resilient choice for daily wear.
