Seiko has expanded its iconic Cocktail Time collection with two brand new Seiko Cocktail watches. These new models both exhibit a very distinctive design, making them some of the collection’s most eye-catching models yet. The watches are inspired by Japanese cocktail culture, especially that of Tokyo’s Ginza area. ‘Nomunication hour’ has become a popular event in Japanese culture. The phrase combines the word ‘nomu’ meaning ‘drink’ and communication. This is a time in which people consume cocktails and talk things over. Seiko’s Cocktail Time collection is inspired by this after-work tradition. Each watch in the collection is named after a drink that is crafted by Hisashi Kishi in Star Bar, Ginza. These new models are no exception as each one has a cocktail-themed inspiration.
The Brand New Seiko Cocktail Watches
The two new models in this collection both use the iconic Seiko Presage design. The brand’s Presage watches are best known for their timeless look, precise mechanical timekeeping and minimalist design. These features are all prevalent in the two newest models. The watches are limited to just 5000 pieces each, making them very desirable and collectable.
Seiko Presage ‘Illuminate’ Cocktail Time SSA455J1
This timepiece is inspired by ‘The Illuminate’ cocktail. The rippled light gold dial is inspired by the shimmering light on the surface of the cocktail as it settles on the bar. This dial is adorned with silver baton indices and silver hour, minute and second hands. The most notable feature of the dial is its skeleton design. This watch ises a modern take of the design to create a striking look. These features are protected by box-shaped Hardlex crystal. This timepiece is powered by an automatic movement. This movement can be viewed and enjoyed through the cut outs on the dial. The movement is housed within a stainless steel case that measures 40.5mm in diameter, creating a comfortable fit on the wrist. This model is secured using a black calfskin leather strap. Additionally, this watch is water resistant up to 5 bar.
Seiko Presage ‘Red Brick’ Cocktail Time SSA457J1
This watch exhibits a graduated red dial in a design that is reminiscent of ‘The Red Brick’ cocktail. This dial is adorned with gold baton indices and gold hour, minute and second hands. The watch is powered by an automatic movement that can be viewed through the unique cut outs in the dial. The modern design of these cut outs gives the watch an unusual and contemporary edge. A stainless steel case frames the dial. This case measures 40.5mm in diameter and 11.95mm in depth, ensuring the dial will make a statement. This model is finished with a brown calfskin leather strap. The watch is water resistant up to 5 bar, making it a practical choice for everyday wear.
