Who are Wings of Hope?
Wings of Hope is an aeronautical humanitarian organisation that is based in the United States of America. Despite only being founded 60 years ago, the organisation has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize twice. Wings of Hope uses the power of aviation to bring medical support to remote and vulnerable communities. They supply support to over 50 countries worldwide. In 2021 alone, more than 65,000 people made use of the organisation’s programmes and services. This goes to show just how vital Wings of Hope is to so many people. However, this organisation relies heavily on the assistance of donors and volunteers. 350 people have up their own time to help Wings of Hop last year and fuel costs are funded entirely by donations. Oris aims to help the cause with the launch of these two new watches.
The New Watches
This launch consists of two watches. Each model is based on the iconic Big Crown design. One model is crafted from solid 18-carat yellow gold and is limited to just 100 pieces worldwide. This model is a genuine collector’s item. The second timepiece in this launch is crafted from high-quality stainless steel and is limited to just 1000 pieces worldwide.

The Dial and Movement
The dial of this striking limited edition model is white in colour. It is adorned with luminous Arabic indices and silver hands with luminous detailing. This will ensure that the dial can be seen clearly, even in the dark. The dial also features a red small-seconds sub-dial, providing the wearer with additional functionality. The dial is protected by domed sapphire glass. This glass has been treated with an anti-reflective coating to ensure it can be seen even under bright lights. These features are all powered by an iconic Oris Calibre 401 movement. This is a high-performance five-day automatic movement and will provide the watch with up to 120 hours of power reserve.
The Case, Strap and Finishing Touches
A stainless steel case frames the bold, white dial of this watch. This case measures 40mm in diameter, creating a comfortable and eye-catching appearance on the wrist. This case safely houses the automatic movement. The movement can be viewed through the sapphire glass exhibition case back. The case also features a screw-in crown which aids with a water resistance rating of up to 50 metres. This timepiece is secured on the wrist using a classic brown leather strap. This strap gives the watch a traditional pilot’s watch aesthetic, making it perfect for fans of aviation. This limited edition timepiece comes in a special box with a certificate to emphasise just how unique it is.
