This week, Maurice Lacroix has launched the all-new Maurice Lacroix #TIDE watches. These watches have been created as part of a long term collaboration between the watch brand and the environmental organisation. The watches in this new launch are some of the brightest and funkiest models that the brand has ever made. This makes them appealing to a younger and more bold audience. These new watches use the famous AIKON design but are now made from recycled materials. This means that the watches have all of the style of a classic Maurice Lacroix watch but are far more sustainable than some other models. These new watches will allow the wearer to be fashion-forward with a luxury timepiece without any guilt about environmental impact. A New Sustainable Material
Each of the all-new Maurice Lacroix #TIDE watches is made from #TIDE ocean-bound upcycled plastic. This is combined with glass fibre to create an incredibly innovative material. This new material is very durable and is said to be twice as hard as standard plastic. Additionally, it is five times more resistant and the carbon footprint is six times less than PET. This means that not only is this innovative material great for the environment, it is also a very durable and resilient material. Watches that are made from this material will be very long-lasting and a great choice for everyday wear.
This material is used in the bezel, case, case back, crown, end piece and buckle of each of the new Maurice Lacroix watches. Almost every element of these timepieces uses the material, meaning that these new watches are incredibly resilient. It takes 17 recycled bottles to create just one watch and its packaging, so this new collection will result in a huge amount of plastic being removed from the ocean.
The Watches
Each of the new watches exhibits a bold and colourful design. Each model features a brightly coloured case and dial that is complemented by either a black or white strap and detailing. The dial of each watch is decorated with a ‘Vague de Jura’ motif that is reminiscent of the ocean. This reminds the wearer of the sustainable materials and good environmental practices that went into the creation of their timepiece. Each dial is protected by sapphire crystal and framed by a 40mm case. Some of the models have diamond-set indices to add a touch of luxury to these durable and practical timepieces.
The all-new Maurice Lacroix #TIDE watches are all powered by quartz movements, ensuring they are precise and reliable. The watches are also water-resistant up to 100 metres, making them a practical choice for daily wear. Each model in the new collection is designed with the brand’s Easy Strap Exchange system. This means that the strap of the watch can be changed easily and without tools. This allows the look of the watch to be easily adjusted for any outfit or occasion. The watches are provided with either a black or white rubber strap. This material will ensure that the watch remains comfortable to wear for long periods of time.
