Earlier this year, in May, Swatch released a new addition to their collections. As the name suggests, the Swatch Space watches are inspired by the unexplored universe, the stars and NASA. With this collection, Swatch is aiming to not only honour generations of scientists but also inspire a whole new generation. The brand uses these models to showcase that anything is possible if you can dream it.
There are 5 watches in total in the Swatch Space collection. Three of the watches are part of the Big Bold range. At first-class watches, we currently have 2 of the 5 Swatch models. Continue reading below to discover the timepieces.
Swatch Big Bold | JUMPSUIT | NASA Collection SB03Z100
This model is part of Swatch’s Big Bold line. This particular model is inspired by the blue jumpsuits astronauts wear. The large 47 mm case of the watch beautifully showcases the display detailing. The dial itself is semi-transparent and blue, allowing you to see into the inner working mechanism of the timepiece. The case is made of white bioceramic, a material most recently developed by Swatch. Securing the model is a blue silicone strap with a pin buckle closure. Completing the overall design of the watch is the NASA logo on the strap. Contrasting the watch’s dial are red indices and white hands. The movement of the watch is quartz.
Swatch New Gent | SPACE RACE | White Silicone Strap SUOZ339
The Space Race model is a lot smaller than the other watches from the Swatch Space collection. The model is meant to be simpler and more understated than the hero pieces of the line. The semi-transparent white case and bracelet are designed for ultimate comfort. The case is made of plastic and measures 41 mm in diameter, while the bracelet is made of silicone. The watch is only splash resistant so it shouldn’t be submerged in water. The movement of the timepiece is also quartz, guaranteeing ultimate precision.
