ORIS have launched a new limited edition of its famous ProPilot model. The new limited edition ORIS Okavango Air Rescue watch has been designed to celebrate the landmark achievements of Botswana’s aeromedical rescue organisation. This watch is limited to only 2011 pieces, meaning that it will be incredibly desirable and collectable. The nature of Botswana has inspired the colour of the watch. The unique green shade is inspired by the grasses of the Okavango Delta. This area is known for its rich wildlife and water based safaris. This connection will remind the wearer to take time to appreciate and celebrate the beauty of the natural world around them. The limited edition ORIS Okavango Air Rescue watch has all of the features of the iconic ProPilot models. However, it also exhibits some stunning new design details.
The Dial
As the dial is inspired by the grasses of the Okavango Delta, it is uniquely textured to reflect this natural landscape. The green dial is given the texture of grass to provide a natural feeling finish. The dial exhibits a date aperture in the 3 o’clock position. The dial also features silver Arabic numerals that ensure that it will be easy to read in all conditions. Silver hour and minute hands are set at the centre of the dial. They are accompanied by a red tipped black second hand. Both the indices and hands are treated with Superluminova. This ensures that the dial can be read easily, even in the dark.
The Case and Movement
The dial is framed by a robust stainless steel case. The case measures 41mm in diameter, making it a comfortable size to wear on the wrist. The case back is engraved and screw fastened. This will aid with the water resistance of up to 10 bar, or 100 metres. A domed sapphire crystal lens protects the dial. The crystal is treated with an anti-reflective treatment. It will ensure that the dial can be read clearly, even under bright lights.
This watch is powered by an Oris 751, base SW 220-1 automatic movement. Oris are renowned for its reliable and precise movements. The wearer can be reassured of the high quality of the movement within this limited edition timepiece. This movement is capable of instantaneous date changing, date correcting, acting as a fine timing device and features a stop second. The movement is equipped with 28,800 A/h vibrations and 26 jewels. It provides the watch with a power reserve of up to 38 hours.
The Finishing Touches
The strap of the limited edition ORIS Okavango Air Rescue watch is in the same green shade as the eye-catching dial. It is a textile strap and exhibits a white stripe down the centre. The strap is secured using a stainless steel buckle. The watch also comes with an additional leather strap. The strap can be changed to suit every occasion. The exclusive green strap has been designed and created especially for this limited edition model by Erika’s Originals.
