Rado have launched four new Captain Cook watches, each made of high-tech ceramic. This release has been eagerly anticipated by Rado fans and collectors due to the brand’s reputation for using high-quality, premium materials and movements. It seems like a natural progression for the brand to include this extremely desirable, scratch-resistant and hypoallergenic material in their popular Captain Cook collection.
These new models feature Rado’s innovative high-tech ceramic monobloc case construction, giving each model a unique appearance with a serrated bezel. These new models encompass years of research and development into the best, most high-performing materials combined with the iconic design of the Rado Captain Cook watch.
The Collection
All four of the new models are powered by the premium Rado calibre R734 movement. This movement gives the watches a generous 80-hour power reserve, ensuring that they will never let the wearer down. Each model is water-resistant up to 300 metres (30 bar), meaning that they can be worn for most swimming activities. This level of water-resistance makes these high-tech ceramic models great for those who thrive in the outdoors.
Rado have ensured that these new models are ready for adventure by coating the indices and chunky arrow hands with Super-LumiNova. This treatment makes the dial easy to read even when in the dark or underwater. Each of the models features black tinted sapphire crystal to protect the dial. This tinted crystal is also used for the transparent case back. An exhibition back allows the wearer to observe and enjoy the premium R734 movement in their new high-tech ceramic Captain Cook watch.

The four new high-tech ceramic models each have a distinct look, suitable for different occasions.
Rado Captain Cook High-Tech Ceramic R32127152
The first model in the launch features a black high-tech ceramic case. The serrated stainless-steel bezel houses a black high-tech ceramic insert. Rado have made this innovative material the centre of attention by complementing this model with a black high-tech ceramic bracelet.
Rado Captain Cook High-Tech Ceramic Black Rubber R32127156
This new Captain Cook model features the same black high-tech ceramic case and bracelet as the previous one. It has a serrated stainless-steel bezel with a black high-tech ceramic insert. This model is finished with a black rubber strap, making it more suitable and comfortable to wear for water sports. This strap option would allow the wearer to truly make use of the water-resistance of this watch.
Rado Captain Cook High-Tech Ceramic Blue Dial R32128202
The third model in this new launch from Rado is made distinct by its hardened stainless-steel bezel with a blue high-tech ceramic insert. The bold blue colour complements the highly distinct plasma high-tech ceramic case and bracelet, creating an eye-catching, innovative timepiece.
The final model in the new launch has a black high-tech ceramic case with a rose gold coloured PVD coated stainless-steel turning bezel. The rose gold colour provides a pleasant contrast to the dark colour of the case and bracelet, giving a modern look to the watch. The focus of this watch is the pioneering high-tech ceramic material, as the bracelet is also made of black high-tech ceramic.
