The Seiko Island Green Collection is inspired by the nature and forests on Iriomote Island in Japan. There are three different models within the line. The island is known not only for its lush woods and unique wildlife but also for being a world-class diving spot. Seiko has an affinity towards commemorating and honouring the beauty of Japan and its nature.
Seiko has used the Prospex diver’s watches as the base for the limited edition collection. The Prospex watches are designed to be able to withstand challenges thrown at them from all sides and in all environments, whether that be on land, underwater or in the air. The Prospex makes the perfect choice for this line as its high water-resistance plays into the fact Iriomote Island is a popular diving destination.
Seiko Limited Edition Prospex “Island Green” Solar Chronograph “Sumo” Watch
The first model in the collection is the Island Green Solar chronograph. Protecting the deep forest green dial is a sapphire crystal. The black subdials of the chronograph complement the black unidirectional bezel. The timepiece is water-resistant up to 200 meters or 20 bars, ensured by the screw-down crown. Apart from the chronograph functions, the dial also features a date aperture at the 4 o’clock position. The hands and circular indices of the watch are luminescent, aiding with readability in low-light environments.
The movement of the watch is Quartz Solar with calibre V192 and accuracy between ±15 seconds per month. The model has a power reserve of up to 6 months and benefits from an overcharge prevention function.
