American watch brand Hamilton has announced the release of its newest aviation watches. The Hamilton Khaki Aviation Converter watches build on and expand the legacy the brand has in flying. Hamilton has been involved in aviation for more than a 100 years, from producing watches for the US air postal service in 1918 to the high-precision pilots’ watches of today. The brand’s reputation for accuracy isn’t undeserved and these new models highlight Hamilton’s professional understanding of pilot’s watches. Created with the needs of pilots’ in mind the watches feature advanced technologies in order for the crew to be able to make split second decisions and critical conversions on the spot. This Hamilton model combines a traditional silhouette with an appealing professional design. Its 42 mm stainless steel case and the stainless steel bracelet highlight the watch’s classic style. The black ridged bezel is bi-directional and features a rotating slide-rule to make conversions easier. The watch’s black dial is simple, covered by a sapphire glass. Luminescent indices and tapered hands contrast the dial and guarantee ultimate readability at night. A date aperture is placed at the 3 o’clock position and bordered in white in order to stand out. The watch is fitted with NivachronTM, an anti-magnetic hairspring, and features an automatic movement with calibre H-10. It’s power reserve lasts up to 80 hours. The watch is water resistant up to 10 bars or 100 meter.

The Converter Chrono watch is more functional and features more complications than the previous Converter model, however it retains the classic understated look of the model with a stainless steel bracelet. It’s case is bigger, measuring 44 mm in diameter. The bi-directional bezel has a rotating slide-rule. It can convert miles to kilometres or feet to metres as well as currency. A black dial matches the black bezel. Both are contrasted by white scales and feature red detailing. The dial features thick luminescent indices and hands. Functions on the watch include hours, minutes, a date and a day aperture. It has an anti-magnetic silicon hairspring as well as a chronograph function. The movement on the model is automatic with calibre H-21-Si and a power reserve of up to 60 hours. The watch is water resistant up to 10 bars or 100 meters.

This Hamilton Khaki Aviation combines all the features from the two previous models. It features a NivachronTM hairspring and a rotating slide-rule bi-directional bezel. Alongside a chronograph function, this model has a date and day aperture. Its complicated black dial is encased by a sapphire crystal. A brown leather strap with a crocodile-like pattern and subtle brown top-stitching, gives the watch a more sophisticated high-end look. The H-21-Si automatic movement has a power reserve of up to 60 hours.
