In February of 2020, Maurice Lacroix’s Eliros Rainbow Limited Edition watch was announced. This limited-edition timepiece was released alongside the Eliros Green Smoke model. Unlike its luxurious sophisticated counterpart, however, the Rainbow limited edition watch is bold, daring and fabulous. Even though the first watches under the Maurice Lacroix name didn’t appear until 1975. Founded as part of Desco von Schulthess Company, the brand was able to utilise the experience in the field of watchmaking of its parent company. Over the years Maurice Lacroix has garnered worldwide success. With this limited-edition timepiece, the brand looks to highlight its deduction to maintaining the outstanding quality of Swiss craftsmanship as well as its spectacular design expertise.
The Eliros Rainbow watch has a dynamic paired-back design. In order to fully showcase the model’s extraordinary look, the timepiece is kept free from any complications. Its case measures 40 mm in diameter and is made of polished rose gold PVD coated stainless steel. The rose gold case and buckle add a distinctly luxurious touch to the model characteristic of the Maurice Lacroix brand. Where the watch’s stunning quality truly shines through is its colours.
The dial and the strap are made from a special PU material which features a host of different shades. This gives the watch its distinct rainbow appearance. An interesting quality the material possesses is the ability to switch colour. Depending on the position the watch is held at the strap and dial will reveal incredible new shades and hues giving it an almost iridescent quality.
In order for the design to shine through the dial is kept clean. All unnecessary elements have been removed. The model doesn’t feature indices and only a set of rose-gold coloured hands and the Maurice Lacroix name are left on the dial. The iconic “M” logo is incorporated on the leather strap. If you would like to tone the watch down, its strap is easily interchangeable through the “easy exchange” system. The watch is water-resistant up to 5 bars. The movement on the timepiece is Quartz and features hours, minutes and seconds function. Maurice Lacroix’s Eliros Rainbow Limited Edition model is limited to 1000 pieces.
