For those bond fans who like the merchandise that come with it, Swatch has just unveiled a brand new James Bond tribute collection. Looking back over six decades of iconic Bond movies, the brand have crafted six new timepieces, a watch for each decade.
Here is a closer look at the collection:
DR. NO 1962
The first watch within the collection commemorates the debut of James Bond on the big screen in 1962. In this movie, Sean Connery takes on the role of Mr Bond as he travels across Jamaica to defeat Dr. No. This first limited edition timepiece styles a black strap with blue and yellow dots on each side. Perhaps the most notable element of this watch is the markers on the dial- every hour is Dr. No on this watch.
On Her Majesty’s Secret Service 1969
George Lazenby stole the show as Mr bond in this movie, from the warm Portuguese beaches and Bernese Alps. This model showcases the adventure of the 1969 film. Upon closer inspection, this watch reveals the iconic 007 logo every time the clock strikes 7.
Moonraker 1979
For Rodger Moore’s fourth appearance, James Bond was blasted into space. The third limited edition timepiece within the collection takes inspiration from the night sky with an inky blue strap and a rocket blasting across the dial.
Licence To Kill 1989
With a saying that has become fundamental to the James Bond franchise, the fourth watch within the James Bond Tribute Collection represents Licence To Kill which was released in 1989. James Bond was played by Timothy Dalton with a story that follows his suspension from M16 which takes him to the hot climates of Florida and Mexico. This design of this watch takes inspiration from Bond pet iguana along side palm trees and a setting sun.
The World Is Not Enough 1999
Pierce Brosnan play Bond in this thrilling adventure in the 1999 film, The World Is Not Enough. In this film, Bond is protecting the world from nuclear attack. The design of this watch features flames across the strap which are reminiscent of the original movie poster. The dial burns a handsome red which takes inspiration from the iconic gun barrel.
Casino Royale 2006
Daniel Craig took the world by storm as he put on his poker face for the role of Bond in 2006. This film saw him play a newly promoted Double-O who must take on villian, Le Chiffre in a tense game of poker. As one of the most popular films within the franchise, the limited edition watch for this decade is something special, with casino style detailing across the strap and dial.
