Who Are Supreme?
Supreme first opened the doors to it’s first store back in April 1994, on Lafayette Street, in Downtown Manhattan. The Store quickly became the home of New York skate culture, and founded the base of the brand we know today. At the very core of the brand was a group of NYC skaters, local artists, and neighborhood kids. This group of people came together to form a family, and became the stores staff, crew, and customers too.
The Supreme brand grew and grew, and began to embody the culture of Downtown New York, and still today plays an integral part in the regeneration of the area. This was a store and a movement that brought together people from all kinds of walks of life. From skaters, to punks, to hip hop fans, people began to relate to the brand.
At the same time as building a movement, a downtown institution, Supreme was still focusing on creating a reputation for more. They wanted to ensure that everything they created was of high quality, stylish and authentic. Values that they stand by today, more than ever.
Over the space of 25 years, Supreme has evolved. From it’s New York origins to a worldwide community that has, and does, work with generations of of artists, photographers, designers, musicians, filmmakers, and writers. Supporting people who defy convention and contribute to the brands unique identity and attitude.
Supreme have been becoming much more widely known over the last few years, and we have seen them collaborate with more and more brands. This is something that they have been doing for a long time, but only now are the mainstream media picking up on it, now that they are working with brands such as Louis Vuitton.
Who Are Timex?
I am sure that you already know who Timex are, but in case you do not, we will give you a overview;
Timex are one of the most popular watch brands around, and one of the oldest too! Their roots date back to 1854 in Waterbury, Connecticut. This was a time when how you made something was equally as important as what you made.
Timex have been a favorite among collectors for years now, as they produce desirable, often limited edition, but affordable timepieces. Some iconic models have come from the brand, as well as some innovative technology too. Their Indiglo technology is one especially well known feature, that is used to light up the dial of their watches.
They have been known for producing expedition watches, classic watches, and urban fashion models too. This is not the first time they have collaborated too. We have previously seen the Nigel Cabourn collaboration, and one of the most popular, Peanuts watches!
What is the Supreme Timex Collaboration?
The Supreme Timex collaboration is coming as part of the brands latest capsule. A day that has been marked on calendars around the world is finally here! The latest release from the upstart skate brand that changed fashion forever.
As part of the Fall/Winter 2019 collection, we will be seeing a whole range of different items of clothing, and accessories. One of which is the one we are interested in, the Timex Watch!
This model is based on the popular T78587 Gent’s Indiglo Alarm Chronograph Watch, but has been updated by Supreme with couple of new features. Most notably, the famous Indiglo feature has been added to with the famous Supreme Box Logo.
This logo has become one of the most iconic logo’s around the globe, and is hard to come by too. It is easy as anything to pick up a replica box logo t-shirt or hoodie, but for the authentic thing, you’re going to have to head to one of the re-selling sites, as these are no longer available from the brand. Some of these items are re-selling for thousands of pounds! So picking up one of these Supreme Timex watches could be a very shrewd idea!
The watch will only be available from the Supreme store, or their online store, unless confirmed otherwise at a later date. We are, however, looking forward to seeing this watch in person, and hope that it becomes the iconic design that it deserves to be!
