Raymond Weil Announce The Sgt Pepper Limited Edition Maestro Watch!
The Beatles Sgt Pepper Limited Edition is the latest in the Music Icons series from the Swiss watchmakers, shortly after the release of the Bob Marley limited edition too! This is the third limited edition piece that has been released in collaboration with The Beatles, one of the worlds most famous rock bands, and is set to be limited to 3,000 pieces worldwide. This new piece form the Maestro collection has been inspired by the legendary ‘Sergeant pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band‘ album and stands out from the crowd thanks to its innovative use of different materials and design.
The Raymond Weil Maestro collection was first launched back in 2010 and was the base for the previous Beatles limited edition watch too, which you can take a closer look at here. This is a collection that celebrates Swiss horology, and demonstrates the technical mastery that Raymond Weil have become so well known for over the years. Heavily inspired by classical music, it is only fitting that this piece is based on the Maestro, combining elegance ad sophistication with innovation and creativity.
“I’m a Beatles fan, like probably most other people, but it is true that I have become even more so through meeting the passionate collectors and fans of the band. I have come to grasp the respect and fascination they arouse in people and the impressive heritage that the group left to music. The Beatles have transcended time.” – Elie Bernheim, Raymond Weil CEO
This model arrives with a grey dial, with a black drum outline in the center, which is then highlighted with yellow gold electroplated details such as the outer edge of the drum, as well as The Beatles logo, which is situated at the 6 o’clock position, and the special 4 o’clock hour marker too.
As you may or may not know, many, if not all of The Beatles are/have been vegan and vegetarian at some part of their careers. Whether for ethical or health reasons it has been reported that George Harrison was the first to go vegetarian, in the mid 60’s, with Paul McCartney following suit just a few years later. It is the reported that Ringo, just like Paul and George decided to go veggie too due to health reasons later on. Due to this, and the fact that Paul McCartney (husband of Linda McCartney who now produces her own vegan food range) still has a large influence on the design and manufacturing of the Raymond Weil Beatles watches, this piece has been fitted with a vegan leather strap, the first for a Raymond Weil watch.
The Sgt Pepper Limited Edition timepiece features Raymond Weil’s RW4200 self-winding mechanical movement fitted inside a yellow gold PVD plated stainless steel case 40mm, offering 38 hours of power reserve. The glass case back is a smoked sapphire crystal display back, with the Beatles logo and limited edition run number engraved too.
This model arrives with a special one-off presentation box, which celebrates the Beatles Limited edition with a colourful showcase, which is based on the famous suits that the band wore on the cover of the Sgt Pepper album.
The watch box pays homage to each of the Fab Four on each side of the box, with the Sergeant Pepper drum graphic and The Beatles logo stamp of approval inside.
