The Oris Clean Ocean Limited Edition Aquis Watch
Baselworld 2019 has only just began, but has already given us two brand new Limited Edition Aquis watches, the Oris Clean Ocean Limited Edition and the Oris Great Barrier Reef Limited Edition too, both promoting and supporting the fight to save our oceans and reefs.
Oris are a company and a brand that are invested in the efforts to bring change for the better to our world and our oceans. They have created a ‘Go Your Own Way’ mission in order to ensure that they behave in a more ecologically friendly way, as well as promoting this lifestyle to others too. We have previously seen other ocean conservation models released as part of this movement, including the Staghorn Limited Edition and the Hammerhead Limited Edition too. Oris are constantly working to use and develop new and sustainable materials in their work, with the most efficient and eco-friendly manufacturing techniques too.
The Oceans Project is solidly at the front of this ambition now, created to highlight and emphasize the threat posed to the world’s oceans by plastic and other rubbish.
The New Oris Clean Ocean Limited Edition that has been announced on the opening day of Baselworld 2019 is based on the highly popular, and functional, Aquis divers watch, and every one of the 2,000 pieces created carries a unique medal made of recycled plastic in the case back.
Taking Out The Trash
Oris are proud to now announce the Clean Ocean Limited Edition, which has been produced in partnership with a pioneering new ocean conservation organization, who’s focus is turning plastic into energy. This new partnership, with Pacific Garbage Screening, presents a new fresh opportunity alongside a young organisation that are developing innovative technology to help keep the worlds water clean, before plastic and other forms of rubbish even have chance to enter the ocean. To mark this significant partnership, and step in the right direction, the Oris Aquis Clean Ocean Limited Edition has been announced. With water resistance up to 300m (30 Bar) and a uni-directional rotating bezel, with aqua blue ceramic insert, this is a fully functional divers watch. The brand new gradient blue dial brings a fresh and vibrant aesthetic to the watch, completely changing it’s look from previous models. In the rear of the watch sits a medallion made from PET plastic to symbolize the effect that our actions are having on the ocean, and the box that the watch arrives in is made from environmentally friendly algae with recycled plastic inlays to promote a more eco-friendly way of working. This model is limited to only 2,000 pieces.
