The first thing that pops into my mind when I think about Polka dots is 1950’s fashion, more specifically pin up fashion. However, our history with polka dots dates much further than that, with the first celebrity appearance of polka dots seen in 1926 when Miss America wore a polka dot bathing suit.
The next famous appearance of this iconic pattern was in 1928, shortly after. It was Disney’s Minnie Mouse who appeared wearing a pink polka dot bow and dress. That was the pivotal point of polka dot fashion and when it became a trend. Since then it has been integrated in our fashion through famous designers and celebrities ever since.
Since 2018 is revisiting the trend of nineties and all rules are broken in terms of our fashion looks I thought I would share some polka dot watches for those that have a soft spot for this timeless trend.
Cath Kidston’s Third Bird Nude Strap
We stock a variety of watches by Cath Kidston, however one of the most iconic designs is polka dots watches from her collection. They come in a selection of different colours but the watch I am recommending today is her Third Bird Nude watch. The polka dots make their appearance on the strap of this dial and are complimented with the cream floral dial. This watch has a feminine edge and is well suited to everyday wear. As the colour combination of this watch is quite neutral you can be assured that it will go with more than one outfit in your wardrobe.
Daisy Dixon Women’s Suki Rose Gloss Leather Strap Watch
If you are looking to add a splash of colour to your wardrobe along with the polka dot pattern then Daisy Dixon may have the timepiece you have been looking for. The leather strap of this dial is made up of purple and red shades, the main focus of this watch of course being the polka dots on the dial of this model. This bold watch has an autumn feel to it and would be a good accessory for your upcoming fall wardrobe.
Radley Ladies Cobweb 33mm Case Cobweb Dial With Dog Charm
Last but by no means least on our list of polka dot recommendations is this timepiece by Radley. This model has a unique look to it not only from the uncommon all over grey look but because of the Radley charm that is attached to the case of this watch. The fact that this watch is an all grey means that it can be combined with several different outfits in your wardrobe and can also take you through all of the seasons in the year.
