Triwa Watches
Scandinavian brand Triwa was founded in 2007 by a group of four friends who had the goal of changing the attitudes of many in the watch industry that they thought was too focused on status and tradition. So, they decided to start the company TRIWA (Transforming the Industry of Watches). Their purpose was to transform the watch into a modern style symbol through a combination of classic silhouettes and contemporary Scandinavian simplicity. You can read more about the brand here.
Humanium Metal by IM
Now, Triwa have began a collaboration with Humanium Metal, by IM. A new material that is made up from recycled gun destruction programs, to create new sources of funding for victims and projects which are aiming to rebuild conflict-torn communities and societies. Consumers who purchase Humanium Metal products, will be part of the solution to one of the world’s greatest problems.
These watches are available in a number of different designs and colours, with different straps and dials to chose from. With the Humanium metal element style logo embossed in the centre of the dial, this is a great way to support and do your bit for a fantastic cause. This watch comes with a Japanese Miyota quartz movement, and scratch resistant sapphire glass, making for a long lasting reliable piece. They feature fiery red accents all throughout, with the seconds hand and the date display being the most prominent, adding a great deep colour, to bring depth and contrast to the timepiece. The watches come from guns, confiscated from conflict torn societies, when they are then deconstructed to their separate materials, so wood taken away from metal etc. Afterwards, the parts are melted in a furnace and casted into what we now call Humanium Metal. This is then where Triwa steps in, to purchase and utilise the new metal, creating watch cases and parts from the materials.
This is not the first collaboration we have seen from Triwa, teaming up with Stampd just last year; https://bit.ly/2JZ4zGB
