Certina have started the 2018 racing season with an intent to thrill-seek. The FFSA GT Championship in the French commune of Nogaro began on the 30th March 2018, which was just in time, as the watch brand announced that they have renewed their sponsorship activities in the world of GT4 racing.
This partnership between the Swiss watchmakers and renowned motosports promoter SRO Motorsports Group began in 2017 and has now advanced to allow them to support the GT4 European Series, the FFSA GT Championship and the GT4 Central European Cup.
The sporty watch brand is thereby continuing its long-established, popular tradition in the world of motorsports. It’s obvious that the two have many features in common: Precision, reliability and real passion – qualities that both highly focused drivers on the racetrack and Certina timepieces have in abundance.
Certina and GT4
The sheer range of cars taking part in GT4 is what makes the sport so exciting. With Sports such as Formula-1 and the ever growing Formula-E it is very much a driver based sport, where all cars are the same and it is down to the drivers to win. The difference in GT4 is that the skill of the drivers remains, but the cars are all different, with each manufacturer/team producing cars that they believe will able to win the championship. Making for a highly exciting, and entertaining race.
The GT4 racing series celebrate sporty cars, high speeds and nail-biting duels. And the important thing about them is that the dreams these cars inspire are not so far removed from all reality. Certina is proud to have partnered the renowned motorsport promoter SRO Motorsports Group since 2017, at three GT4 championships with stations in the UK, Belgium, France, Spain, Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary and Italy.
The GT4 sprint races attract fans from all four corners of the world. Passionate and wild, these fans are always there to support the sport they love, and Certina are never too far behind pole position. All competing cars feature the brands logo predomintantly on the windscreen for all to see throughout the race, and on the podium during the celebrations. The Fastest driver gets presented with a timepiece during the winners ceremony as a classy touch form the brand.
Certina have a historic underlying passion for sporting challenges. Whether it is excellence in the art of watchmaking or top performance on the race track, this passion courses through Certina’s veins. The brand has long been associated with motorsport, and has been a proud sponsor of the Wilvo Yamaha Official MXGP team since 2018. Read More about this Partnership here!
