German watch brand Junghans has looked to the past to gather inspiration for their latest horological innovation.
Junghans Meister Chronoscope
The Junghans Meister Chronoscope Terrassenbau Limited Edition model code (18kt gold – 027/9700.00) (stainless steel – 027/4729.00) has been created by the German Luxury watch brand to mark a centenary year of one of their buildings. The creator of this stunning timepiece looked to this architectural masterpiece for the watches design as the terrace building played an integral role in the brands history.
A number of calibres were developed in this building and for many years it was at the center of the Junghans factory. Although it was not where the components were manufactured as this was the building in front of this site it was where the caliber and watch assembly took place. It was where the watch really came together to make a timepiece. It was in this building on the top floor that all the “high Concentration” work took place, this included assembly and regulation for Chronometers.
Junghans has decided to mark the building’s centenary year by launching two stunning timpieces with a limited run of only 100 pieces of the 18kt gold verion and 1000 models of the Stainless Steel version. The Meister Chronoscope Terrassenbau, features an 18kt. gold case, champagne-coloured dial and three matt silver totalisers.
The stainless steel version features the same subdials however it has a matt silver-plated dial.
Both models designs have drawn inspiration from the Junghans industrial monument with very distinctive features referencing the stunning architecture and colours of this historic building. The dark green wall tiles from the stairways can be seen in the alligator style genuine leather strap and the minute track of the watches dial has drawn inspiration from the buildings wall decorations.
