Tissot and Alpine
The relationship between Tissot and the French car manufacturer began in the sixties and seventies, when they were winning titles such as World Rally Champion in 1973, with the Alpine A110 at the Rally of Monte Carlo and the scratch victory at the 24h Le Mans race in 1978 with the Alpine A442b. Tissot then renewed the partnership with the French car manufacturers in 2015 for the Endurance World championship, and now sponsor them with the Alpine A450B number 36 during the race in Le Mans once again. Tissot has always had a strong and passionate link to motor racing and this relationship really shows that to be the case, the partnership shows how the Swiss watch makers have got to where they are today and has paved the way for Tissot to be a valuable and trusted Partner and Official Timekeeper for multiple high-level international events.
This partnership is reflected in the brand new Tissot PRS 516 Alpine Limited Edition, of which only 516 will be made. Created in celebration of the new Alpine A110 which was announced at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, this watch has fantastic design elements, including the perforated black leather strap, the carbon fiber dial, and floating hour markers.
Last week, at the International Car Show in Paris, the Tissot on board watches were launched. These fantastic timepieces were presented by the president of Tissot and the Alpine commercial director, Mr. Thiébaud and Mr. Fricotte. This piece will be available in both a quartz and an automatic variation, and will be available as an accessory of the new Alpine A110 car, which is set to be fully launched in 2019. Exciting times in the partnership for both companies.
