International watch brand Hamilton have recently celebrated the anniversary of one of the most renowned collections that the manufacturer has ever produced. The Ventura Collection contained the worlds first electric watch back in 1957 it was extremely popular and was a favourite of many famous people but became known as one celebrities favourite watch, this was none other than Elvis Presley.
The original watch was named as “a revolutionary movement in a revolutionary design” by many and its been an instantly recognisable model ever since. The celebration evening was mainly for their stores abroad in places such as Paris and Thailand however news travelled fast and many people travelled from abroad to attend this once in a lifetime event. Elvis only played once during his visit to Paris at a Casino which is where Hamilton chose to host the prestigious event.
Hamilton wanted a way to be able to make their Ventura pieces relevant to the 21 century so decided that the way to do this was to use timeless materials and what is more timeless than Denim. It is a fabric that became popular in the 50’s which was the same time as the birth of the Ventura Collection. They have included this in one of the new Ventura models seen at the event. There is also a Gold PVD plated Stainless Steel case with a stylish leather strap which looks incredibly sophisticated.
