Seiko watches sponsor IAAF World Championship 2017

IAAF World Championships, commonly referred to as the World Championships in Athletics is an event that happens every other year. It is organised by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF). A little bit of trivia knowledge for you here the Championship event was originally held every four years, the first one happened in 1983 and the current two-year cycle only actually began in 1991.

Seiko invited us along to watch the heats on Monday and we were very excited to head down to London and experience the IAAF World Championship 2017 first hand. After picking up our tickets from the Seiko pavilion we decided to explore what the park had to offer. The images above are from the inside of the Seiko stand where if you managed to stop the timer on 9.58 seconds without looking you won a Seiko wall clock. It was a lot harder than it looks and many came close but I think we only saw one winner in the entire day that we were there. The stand looked fantastic with a well thought out game that linked in well with the brands ‘Official Timer’ status.

Inside the stadium was breathtaking, we were given VIP treatment and Scott even managed to get a photo with Paula Radcliffe. We had some drinks and there was even a buffet spread laid out thanks to the efforts of Seiko and the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park staff for making it all possible. Our seats were directly facing the finish line as you can see from our photos which was where all the action was. We had a cheery group just behind us from Zambia who were cheering throughout and a group below of Jamaicans who were taking every opportunity to get up and dance. The atmosphere was so friendly and joyful with groups from all over the world coming together to celebrate the best in athletic sport from around the world.

If you have a chance to get down there before the final events are finished then we would definitely recommend going to this prestige event. Thank you again to Seiko for inviting us and for the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park staff who were all so welcoming and went the extra mile to make our experience a memorable one.
