Rado Watches at Baselworld 2017
Rado Watches is the Swiss watch brand known for its award winning and innovative designs plus its use of advanced materials and technologies. To learn about this brands rich history we have to take a trip all the way back to 1917, when three brothers in Switzerland, Lengnau to be precise, founded Schlup & Co. They became manufacturers and makers of watch movements as well as components. In 1928 the company registered the famous trademark Rado which we all know and love today. To do this they had to meet with the Swiss Office for Intellectual Property, and declare its intention to use it for “watches and watch components”. Rado Watches has always been know as a head turning, groundbreaking company that has always turned visions into realities. Rado Watches is always seen in the media pushing the boundaries of material technology whilst simultaneously continually introducing the unexpected to Swiss watchmaking. Rado has grown in leaps and bounds and their innovation, technology, high-tech materials and design combine to create their beautiful collections of stunning timepieces. There have been a number of milestones on Rado’s impressive list of achievements so far which include its iconic monobloc scratch-resistant watch which isn’t just a pioneering advance in high-tech ceramic in watchmaking, but a glimpse into the future of watch making with its use of touch technology in a ceramic watch. Nothing gets in the way of Rado’s mission to discover, invent and innovate. The latest collection shows Rado at its very best. Style and substance are the key to the future as Rado continues to create beautiful and eye-catching watches that will stand the test of time.
Rado are kicking off Baselworld with a number of spectacular announcements which they are unveiling as the show goes on, so far they have announced two beautiful watches listed below:
The Iconic Rado Ceramica
Last year Rado Watches announced an update to the iconic Ceramica with a contemporary new look for the current zeitgeist. Newly announced at Baselworld2017 is three new additions to the Ceramica family which have now been unveiled and are ready for retailers to snap up while stocks last which we do not think will be long.
The watch featured very strong lines and gently smoothed silhouettes, these three new Ceramicas are perfect for any minimalism enthusiast and collectors. They are just the successor we were hoping for after the two matte Ceramicas that were unveiled last year. For a softer look that is no less visually compelling, two models in grey high-tech ceramic are also available. The stunning smooth polished grey version features the trademarked Super-LumiNova® indexes as its matte black counterpart. To make this watch collection even more special this collection marks the first time that automatic movements have been used in the Ceramica family.
Rado True Thinline Colours
Another announcement from the stand at Baselworld is that Rado’s thinnest-ever timepieces will soon be getting a colourful new look. The beautiful super slim Thinline collection is adding chic models in a range of colourful new high-tech ceramic variations.
With their minimalist face and dials plus the monochrome colour schemes, this fantastic range follows in the footsteps of recent minimalist designs throughout the Thinline collection. Contemporary and understated, each timepiece is fashioned from high-tech ceramic in one of four colours – inky blue, forest green, lunar grey, or chocolate brown. This stylish marriage of colour and material is allowed to take center stage thanks to the True Thinline’s restrained design and barely-there 4.9 mm profile.
