There is a lot to look forward to in the world of watches in 2017. Not only do we have a wide range of exciting smarwatches due for release this year – we also have the most exciting watch event of the year to look forward to, Baselworld 2017!
As usual, we will cover all of the big news and views coming out of Baselworld 2017 week. But if you’re like us – you can’t wait for the world’s premier watch event. So, what do we have to look forward to at Baselworld?
When and Where is Baselworld 2017
Baselworld 2017 takes place, as usual, at the end of March. The event takes place from March 23rd till March 30th at the Messe Basel in Switzerland. The event is open each day from 9AM till 6PM, except for the final day when it’s open from 9AM till 4PM.
If you want to visit Baselworld 2017 then you can do so by paying CHF 60 (around £47.71) for a day ticket or CHF 150 (around £119.28). You don’t have to pre-register to visit Baselworld 2017, but if you would like to save yourself time you can purchase a ticket online.
Who Will Be At Baselworld 2017
It will not be any surprise to hear that the Swiss watchmakers will be displaying their latest and greatest devices. Rolex and Omega will be two of the exhibitors that people will be most excited about! People are already very excited to see some of the new Omega devices, including the new Speedster Moonwatch which was announced early in January.
Outside of the top Swiss manufacturers, there will be many of the other giants of watch manufacturing displaying their new and exciting devices. Casio will undoubtedly be hoping to make a big deal out of their second Android Wear device and their G-Shock Gold Hammer Tone MRGG1000HG-9A. People attending Baselworld 2017 should be getting excited at the thought of checking out the incredible-looking gold G-Shock.
Austrian crystal jewellery company, Swarovski will be hoping to make an impact at Baselworld 2017. It has been confirmed that Swarovski crystal will launch their very own Android Wear smartwatch at the event. Swarovski have released no details about the device, so expect people to get very, very excited as Baselworld 2017 draws near! An interesting fact is that although this device is the first Swarovski smartwatch, it is not the first time they have worked on the development of a smartwatch. Swarovski have worked with Samsung on the crystal-studded Gear S and with Huawei on the Huawei Watch Jewel.
One company who will not be visiting Baselworld 2017 is Bremont. Surprisingly, Bremont have snubbed Baselworld this year in favour of unveiling their latest offerings at a townhouse in London and an event in New York City.
