Hamilton at the Red Bull Air Championship 2017
On the 5th January Hamilton Watches announced that they were now the official timekeepers of the Red Bull Air Championship. The competition takes place every year across a host of countries and this year includes: Abu, Dhabi, San Diego, Chiba, Budapest, Kazan, Indianapolis and parts of Europe.
The Red Bull Air Race World Championship is an official World Championship, accredited by the FAI – The World Air Sports Federation.
Since the Red Bull Air Race Championships’ official launch it has become globally renowned as the more exhilarating and fastest Motorsport on the planet. In total there are 14 pilots who are all competing against each other in the Master Class category which spans across eight daring high speed, adrenaline pumped races around the globe to be crowned the 2017 Red Bull Air Race World Champion. The objective is quite simple in the pilots need to navigate an aerial assault course style racetrack which features air-filled posts weaving in and out to reach the finish line in the fastest possible time and incurring as few faults as possible. Pilots can win points at each race location depending on the place that they finish, these are all added up across the locations and the pilot with the most points becomes the new Red Bull Air Race World Champion.

Hamilton Pilot Nicolas Ivanoff
A strong and devoted contender in the Red Bull Air Race for over 13 years, Nicolas Ivanoff has five career race victories under his belt and is looking for his sixth. His win at the 2016 opener in Abu Dhabi set the pace for a competitive season. Ivanoff has somewhat of a loose canon, sometimes flying with complete confidence and easy during his races while off his game at others, but Red Bull Air Race fans across the globe are huge fans of his flow style in the sky and exceptional ability to have complete control through the technical tracks.

It wasn’t a super start. I did not find the right feeling through the Vertical Turning Manoeuvre today. I will try to do some training just before San Diego to recapture a better feeling again in the raceplane.
