Is Apple ‘Winding us up’ with the new Apple Smartwatch?
Apple are back in the news this week with a brand new announcement. They are adding a manual winding crown to their smartwatches, yes you read that correctly a winding crown on a smartwatch. They are currently in the process of patenting the technology to charge and power a smartwatch with a winder function similar to that of a traditional watch.
For all the ways you work out
The new watch will be a ‘Superior Sports Watch’ with functionalities such as Built-in GPS, Heart rate sensor, Water Resistancy to 50 metres and Comprehensive bespoke Workout App.
Built-in GPS
The new Apple smartwatch can track your exercise without the need for you to carry your iPhone with you whilst you’re out! You can also swim, cycle and even skydive! It has a new even brighter screen so you can view your workout stats no matter how much glare you are getting from the sun.
Heart Rate Monitor
Apple have built a unique sensor that can continuously measures your heart rate whilst you workout using the app. You are able to see it on your watch alongside all other important metrics — You can even highlight it in a different colour or bigger font so you can check it at a glance.
Water Resistant
The Apple Smartwatch Series 2 is water resistant to 50 metres, so feel free to wear it when you’re in the pool or even the ocean. Apple couldn’t seal the speaker as it needs air to produce sound so they approached it from another angle, they reinvented it so that it lets water in, then uses sound vibrations to force it back out. Amazingly clever! and very efficient.
Workout App
The Workout App is fantastic and a massive hit with out Apple watch wearers in the office. You are able to choose from a huge range of 12 indoor and outdoor workouts which include swimming, biking and running. You then set your goals and you’re ready to go. Whether its leg day or arms day, Apple Watch Series 2 accurately measures your activity and you can select up to five metrics to view at once, automatically pause a run, and even mark segments.
